Last updated: March 9, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Torv (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and our Security practices. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
Torv is a personal financial management tool that provides:
- Reconciling financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, net worth decomposition)
- Tax projections across 51 U.S. jurisdictions (federal + 50 states)

- Social Security optimization
- Savings waterfall analysis (optimal deployment order for retirement contributions)
- Spending tracking, categorization, and analytical insights
These features are based on data you provide or authorize us to access through connected financial institutions.
Torv is not a financial advisor, tax advisor, accountant, or investment advisor. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use Torv. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
4. Account Registration and Security
You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately at admin@torv.app if you suspect unauthorized access
5. Subscription and Billing
Torv is a paid service. Current pricing is displayed on our website and during checkout.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled
- You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of your current paid period
- No refunds are provided for partial billing periods
- We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before the new rate takes effect
6. Connected Financial Accounts
Torv integrates with third-party data aggregation providers (currently Quiltt, powered by MX and Finicity) to access your financial institution data on your behalf. By connecting a financial institution, you authorize Torv to access the following data through our aggregation provider:
- Transaction history (descriptions, amounts, dates, merchant information)
- Account balances and account metadata (name, type, institution)
- Investment holdings (securities, quantities, market values, cost basis)
- Investment transactions (buys, sells, dividends, contributions, withdrawals, transfers)
- Liability information (credit card due dates, loan balances) where available
Your bank login credentials are managed exclusively by our aggregation provider, never byTorv. You authorize the connection and can revoke it at any time through your Torv account settings or by contacting us at admin@torv.app. All personally identifiable fields are encrypted before storage (see our Security page).
Data retrieved from your financial institutions through Torv does not represent the official record of your accounts. For official account records, balances, or transaction history, please refer directly to your financial institution. Torv provides this data for personal informational and planning purposes only.
Torv will not sell, resell, license, exploit, or commercialize any data obtained from your connected financial institutions, including in anonymized or aggregated form. Your data is used solely to provide theTorv service to you as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Torv's systems, other users' accounts, or data you are not authorized to access

- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or data obtained through it
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law
Violation of this section may result in suspension or termination of your account.
8. Data Accuracy Disclaimer
Torv generates financial statements, tax projections, and retirement analyses based on data you provide and data retrieved from connected financial institutions. While we strive for accuracy:
- We are not responsible for errors in data provided by your financial institutions or entered by you
- Tax projections use current tax law and published parameters but are estimates, not tax preparation
- Retirement projections involve assumptions about future returns, inflation, and tax rates that may not materialize
- Financial statements generated by Torv are for personal informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for tax filing, legal proceedings, or official financial reporting
- You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of your financial data and any decisions made based on it
9. Service Availability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may perform scheduled maintenance, and we will endeavor to provide advance notice of significant planned downtime. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in the Service (including its design, code, algorithms, and branding) belong to Torv and its licensors. Your financial data remains yours. We claim no ownership over the data you provide or that is retrieved on your behalf from financial institutions.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Torv and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Torv, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
13. Dispute Resolution
- Informal resolution first — Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at admin@torv.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
- Governing law — These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to conflict of law principles.
- Jurisdiction — If informal resolution fails, any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Lancaster County, Nebraska. You consent to personal jurisdiction in these courts.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
14. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your data enters a 30-day soft-delete period and is then permanently purged (see our Privacy Policy for details).
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use policy. Where possible, we will provide reasonable notice and an opportunity to cure the violation before termination. In cases of severe or repeated violations, we may terminate immediately.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may delete your account before they take effect.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Torv regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements or communications.
